Cross Country Team Off to the Races - Q&A with Cameron Waters

The Westbury Christian School Cross Country has had a strong start to the season. Under the direction of new coach Shimon McLean, she is molding this team of young runners. Newcomer, Cameron Waters, has had strong finishes in the Varsity Boys Division. He shared with us some insight into the 2023 Fall Cross Country Season.

1. What are you looking forward to this cross-country season?
“I am really looking forward to setting personal records this season and getting better each week.”

2. What do you love about cross country?
“I love that cross country is more of an individual sport. I can focus on myself and getting better.”

3. Where is your favorite place to run?
“I like running at parks and the trails where there is lots of scenery.”

4. What are your hobbies?
“When I am not running, I like playing baseball and listening to music”

5. What is a random fact/talent about yourself?
“Most people don’t know I can eat a lot. I love chicken alfredo”

6. How would you describe the cross-country team?
“We are a very young team and everyone wants to improve so I would describe the cross-country team as having lots of potential.”
